And now the facts:

1. While many think I am adventurous for living internationally and working overseas, actually I grew up this way, so for me it was like coming home.
2. My friends in High School (JIS) started calling me DJ after Dennis Johnson on the Celtics and it stuck. Those friends still call me that…other people don’t. I appreciate that for a small group of friends it’s our own little connection.
3. Despite growing up overseas, I’m a Virginia boy in these ways: lived in Reston, graduated from W&M, and DMB and EFO maybe my favorite two bands of all time.
4. My wife and I are about to switch from man-to-man defense to zone. Kid #3 is on the way.
5. My college volleyball partner and I beat a member of the US Olympic team and a teammate of ours in grass doubles, 15-11. I still have his jersey.
6. I still hold to this day that I invented the term, “crazy talk” as in “That’s crazy talk.”
7. My favorite place in the world (if you don’t count anywhere with my family) is Bali.
